Ramon Puig Cuyàs & Silvia Walz

From September 5 to October 12, the gallery presents Catalan artists Ramon Puig Cuyàs and Silvia Walz in the exhibition Catalan Colours, which is the very first retrospective of both their parallel careers. The exhibition features works created by these two artists and life partners over the past thirty years. The public is also invited to discover the brand new publication When jewellery becomes a metaphor – Ramon Puig Cuyàs: 30 years of contemporary jewellery, which is now available at the gallery.
St-Lambert Contemporary Art Fair, Quebec // October 3-6, 2019
The gallery is honored to have been invited to exhibit at the Foire d’art contemporain de Saint-Lambert, one of Quebec’s major contemporary art events, from October 3 to 6, 2019. In addition to being the gallery’s first participation, the FAC’S 2019 edition will also mark the very first time contemporary jewellery will be on display at the event. The gallery will be presenting a selection of artists who have chosen jewellery as a means of expression. With its focus on cultural mediation, the FAC represents an opportunity to awaken a new public to contemporary jewellery.
SOFA, Chicago, Illinois // October 31- November 3, 2019
For the fifth consecutive year, the gallery will be present at SOFA Chicago from October 31 to November 3. The gallery will once again unveil the latest work created by many of its artists, as well as a selection of contemporary jewellery from Korea. Three of the gallery’s artists, Aric Verrastro, Märta Mattsson and Zachery Lechtenberg, will have the opportunity to present a lecture on their work and careers.
Märta Mattsson & Silke Spitzer
November 8 – 30, 2019
Artists Märta Mattsson (Sweden) and Silke Spitzer (Germany) will present their work in a duo exhibition from the 8th to the 30th November. Animated by phobias and disgust reactions to certain elements, Mattsson creates her jewellery using insects which she shapes and deconstructs. Spitzer’s intuitive work results in sculptural necklaces, composed of multiple natural elements that form repetitive patterns. An opening reception will be held on November 8, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the presence of both artists.
Exhibition at the Ross Art Museum, Delaware, Ohio
Erin Fletcher, director of the museum, has invited Noel Guyomarc’h to act as curator for the Bijoux Contemporains: Francophone Artists Reimagine Adornment. The selected artists areAmbroise Degenève (France), Anne-Sophie Vallée (Québec), Aurélie Guillaume (Québec), Catherine Granche (Québec), Catherine Sheedy (Québec), Claude Schmitz (Luxembourg), Gabrielle Desmarais (Québec), Magali Thibault Gobeil (Québec), Marianne Anselin (France), Marie-Ève Castonguay(Québec), Nelly von Oost (Belgium), Patricia Lemaire (France) and Sophie Hanagarth (Switzerland).
Bijoux Contemporains: Francophone Artists Reimagine Adornment will be on display from October 31, 2019 to February 9, 2020.
New York City Jewelry Week // November 20-24, 2019
For the second edition of New York City Jewelry Week, the gallery will be present at 191 Henry Street, in Lower East Side, from November 20 to 24, to unveil two simultaneous exhibitions. On the one hand, 18 Korean artists will be presented in the exhibition HAN made, and on the other hand, the exhibition Prêt-à-Porter will feature works by a selection of the gallery’s artists. An opening will take place on Wednesday, November 20, from 5 to 9 pm, and the exhibition will be open to the public on Thursday and Friday, November 21 and 22, from 12 to 8 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday, November 23 and 24, from 11 to 6 pm.
EXHIBITION OF THE ARTISTS OF THE GALLERY
The gallery will end the year 2019 with the 24th annual exhibition of the gallery’s artists, which will bring together the work of the several dozen creators it represents. This will be an occasion to discover their creations, as well as those of artists who will be invited specifically for the event. Many of them will be present at the opening reception on Thursday, December 12, from 5 to 8 pm.
