Né au Luxembourg en 1972, Claude Schmitz est d’abord attiré par une carrière d’architecte d’intérieur. Il intègre en 1993 l’école de Rheinland-Pfalz, en Allemagne. En 1995, il s’inscrit à l’académie des beaux-arts de Anvers en Belgique. Il obtient sa licence avec mention en bijouterie en 1999. Puis il déménage à Londres pour poursuivre ses études au Royal College of Art et en sort avec une maîtrise en bijouterie et orfèvrerie en 2001. Claude Schmitz retourne ensuite au Luxembourg où il travaille comme artiste professionnel indépendant. Moments, sentiments, environnement, couleur, émotion, perception; une fraction de ceux-ci sont les composantes de mon travail - impressions, désirs, réflexions sont le résultat. Claude Schmitz
Claude Schmitz was born in Luxembourg in 1972. He entered the Fachhochschule Rheinland-Pfaz in Germany in 1993. After finishing his studies there, Schmitz enrolled at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, graduating with honors in jewelry in 1999. In the same year, he moved to London and enrolled at the Royal College of Art, obtaining a Master‘s degree in Jewelry and metalsmithing in 2001. At the end of his studies, he returned to Luxembourg to become a freelance professional artist. Moments, feelings, surrounding, color, emotion, perception, a fraction of these are the composants of the work - impressions, desires, reflections are the result. |
